18mm and below solid wood flooring is the cost-effective choice for those that want a traditional solid wood floor in their home without the premium price tag. They are manufactured from a single piece of timber up to 18mm thick and come in a number of different widths, from narrow (under 141mm) to wide (192mm and above).

These boards are suitable for laying over a ply or chipboard subfloor, and should never be installed directly over joists. While solid wood floors are not suitable for use in high-moisture areas, such as bathrooms or kitchens, they make an excellent covering for most living and high-traffic areas.
